BCIT CNST Students

In partnership with the Construction Safety Network (CSN) the students of the CNST 1100 course will now have the opportunity of also obtaining their Construction Safety Specialist (CSS) designation. Courses have been scheduled to coincide with the weekends of the CNST 1100 course.

Click here to register for the CSS courses that coincide with this course.

Only BCIT students already registered in the CNST 1100 course are eligible to take these special course offerings. If you would like to take courses towards your CSS designation and are not a BCIT student please visit our CSS page:

http://www.safetynetwork.bc.ca/programs/construction_safety_specialist.cfm

and register for one of the courses in your area in the regular course listings above.

Recipients of the CSS designation through the Construction Safety Network are eligible to challenge the Canadian Construction Association’s Gold Seal Construction Safety Coordinator designation. To obtain CSS designation applicants require a minimum of 5 years practical construction related experience (within the past 10 years). Students without the required working experience necessary can apply to the CSN after they have acquired that experience.

The CSS training will be offered on the weekends of the scheduled CNST 1100 courses and in some cases will be at no extra charge to the students*. A minimum of 10 students will be necessary to proceed.

* If you work for a BC construction employer that pays a construction rate to WorkSafeBC, then you are eligible to take our courses free of charge. For all others please contact us at 1-866-860-0232 or by email at info@safetynetwork.bc.ca to discuss fees.
