Rick Cox - Master Trainer

I am pleased to have been selected for a second term to serve as a Master Trainer for the Traffic Control Training Program. I believe that have a lot of expertise to offer in the field of traffic control and traffic control training. I have been involved in traffic control training for approximately 33 years as I served as the Safety Inspector and Trainer for the Ministry of Transportation prior to my leaving. I am one who is very concerned for traffic safety for both workers and traffic control persons, and feel that the standardized training for the Province is definitely a move in the right direction to improve the safety on our roadways for both those working on it and those driving on it. By standardizing the traffic control training motorists should expect to see the same type of traffic control work zones throughout the Province of British Columbia during their travels on our roads and highways. As well by standardizing the training, traffic control persons and employers of traffic control persons will now know the proper standards for setting up work zones and if standards are followed by all, will make a positive impact on work zone safety. I look forward to another two years of hard work and dedication in making sure that traffic control persons are provided with the tools, education and training that will be required to ensure the safety of all those working on our roads.
