National COR

The Construction Safety Network is a member of the Canadian Federation of Construction Safety Associations (CFCSA). As such, we have signed an agreement for COR reciprocity between all Canadian provinces.

Out of Province Equivalency Policy  

NOTE: When submitting an ACSA COR Audit for reciprocity, the Interview Summary Sheet MUST be included in the submission. 

Courses 

Internal Auditor Training

Reciprocity will be offered for Auditor Training Certification obtained through courses offered by members of the Canadian Federation of Construction Safety Associations (CFCSA).  Certification is only valid for performing internal/maintenance audits.  Equivalency will be granted upon submission of Auditor Training Certificate to the Construction Safety Network.  No audit will be processed without current Auditor Training Certificate on file for company auditor. 

External Auditor Recognition

Only Individuals that qualify through the Construction Safety Network’s external auditor process are eligible to perform external audits for the purposes of BC Certificate of Recognition. A complete list can be found on the Construction Safety Network website. 

Safety Management Training Courses

Courses other than Auditor Training will be addressed on a case by case basis for the purposes of equivalency, contact the CSN for further information. For the purposes of the Construction Safety Specialist (CSO), equivalent courses offered by members of the CFCSA will be granted reciprocity.

Large Companies 

External Year

If submitting an out of province audit, the audit document must include:

·        Audit must be performed by an External Auditor recognized by the Construction Safety Network

·        A representative sampling of BC sites visited in the course of performing the audit. At least 1/3 of a company’s   worksites for every CU registered with an employer ID.

·        The appropriate number of interviews on BC sites as per the interview chart supplied on the National Audit Document.  ·        A Complete Interview Summary Sheet must be submitted with the audit. (Note that not all other provinces require the interview summary sheet to be submitted)

·        BC Supplement – Audit Element 14 completed for BC Sites

·        Optional Additional Injury Management Audit completed externally on BC sites

·        Construction Safety Network COR Application form completed in full (if not previously submitted)

·        Company H&S Manual submitted and reviewed by the CSN (if not previously submitted) 

Internal/Maintenance Year

If submitting an out of province audit, the audit document must include:

Small Companies *Only applicable with the National Audit Document

If submitting an out of province audit, the audit document must be the National Audit Document and include:

·        A representative sampling of BC sites visited in the course of performing the audit

·        The appropriate number of interviews on BC sites as per the interview chart supplied on the National Audit Document.  ·        Valid Auditor Training Certification of internal auditor

·        BC Supplement – Audit Element 14 completed for BC Sites

·        Construction Safety Network COR Application form completed in full (if not previously submitted)

·        Company H&S Manual submitted and reviewed by the CSN(if not previously submitted)  

NOTE: RECIPROCITY IS GRANTED BASED ON THE CFCSA NATIONAL AUDIT DOCUMENT, RECIPROCITY WILL NOT BE ISSUED IF AN ALTERNATE DOCUMENT IS SUBMITTED
